Majella Mark is a first-generation American born to immigrant parents who resided in the United States as artists from the Caribbean island of Grenada. Majella has a passion for addressing anti-equity and inclusion that can be witnessed through her work over the years. With inspiration from Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party, she created the workshop, Pvssy Plate Painting Party, to address gender inequalities and the objectification of the female body through art. She has published essays with the Lucy Writers’ Platform at The University of Cambridge. Along with her sister, she produced a limited podcast series called Met God, She’s Black that created space for women to share their stories about sensitive subjects such as suicide, abortions, infertility, and alcoholism, among other things. This multi-talented documentary director uses her creative endeavors to shed light on important social issues and empower marginalized voices through art and storytelling.
